A 21-year-old Grade 11 student was arrested while two minors were held at the MSWD office for using marijuana at Balayan National High School, Bgy. District 11, Balayan, Batangas, on Tuesday.
Acting Batangas police director Senior Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag identified the users as Florence Pellio Amore, 21, of Bgy. Langgangan; Boyet and Edwin (not their real names), all Grade 11 students of BNHS.
The incident was reported to police by Anna Marie de Guzman, teacher of BNHS.
A team, led by SPO2 Alvin Baral, responded. SPO1 Ambrocio Duman and PO3 Roderick Botavara said that at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, teachers Guillermo Arroyo and Reyes Lopez arrested the two minors after they were caught using marijuana inside the school.
The suspects were brought to the Guidance Office of the school together with the confiscated items.
Police recovered 16 small plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves, a small transparent opened plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves (19.8 grams), a bundle of small empty transparent plastic packets, two opened plastic packets and a black sling bag.
Physical inventory and photographs of the pieces of evidence were made in the presence of Bgy. Captain Julian de Roxas, DOJ representative Michael Saroca and Municipal Social Welfare and Development representative Mildred C. Dimayuga.
The suspects and the recovered illicit drugs were brought to Batangas Provincilal Crime Lab for examination.
Amore was detained at the police lock-up cell while Boyet and Edwin were turned over to MSWD in Balayan.
