SAN Fernando City, La Union -- Two electric distribution facilities in Cagayan will be affected by a 12-hour power interruption on Sunday (September 11). It will affect parts of Cagayan and Apayao.
Customers of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption.
This was announced by Lilibeth Gaydowen, NGCP North Luzon Corp. Comm. & Public Affairs officer, who said the affected distribution utilities are Cagayan Electric Cooperative I (CAGELCO I)-Alcala substation and the entire franchise area of CAGELCO II.
Gaydowen said the reason for the scheduled power interruption is the re-configuration of the substation and line equipment. This is part of the upgrading activities at the Tuguegarao substation.
She added that specific areas that may be affected by the power interruption are determined by the abovementioned Dus (distribution utility), unless the activity will have an effect on the entire franchise area.
On the other hand, normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.
The power outage is originally scheduled on Sept. 10 (Saturday), but it was moved to Sept. 11 to accommodate the request of CAGELCO II, said Gaydowen.
