A one-year-old baby boy died after he fell from the bed inside an apartelle where his parents were billeted in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Case investigator PO3 Julius Balbuena of the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) identified the victim as Nash Flores, one year and four months old.
The incident happened inside Room 26 of Miami Homes Apartelle located at 11-B Miami St., Bgy. Obrero, Cubao, at around 12:45 a.m.
Norgil Flores, 24, mother of the victim, told the investigators that 30 minutes before the incident, she and her boyfriend Rey Fernandez checked in at the said room along with her two children, including Nash.
The woman said she went outside for several minutes to buy food.
When she returned, she saw Fernandez giving Nash a first-aid treatment. She said Nash was gasping for breath.
Norgil rushed her son to World Citi Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
Cursory examination showed that the baby sustained hematoma in different parts of the body.
Fernandez claimed that the baby fell from the bed.
