A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl died in Roxas City while two others were wounded after being hit by a truck carrying sugarcanes along Bgy. San Esteban, Pilar, Capiz.
The victim, Cathlea Sabala, died due to severe injuries while her other two siblings, Kim Regon and Apple Sabala were still in the hospital.
According to the investigation of Pilar police station, the truck driver first hit two other tricycles parked along the road before it hit Sabala’s house where the 2-year-old victim died and Celso Lubaton’s house was wrecked.
The driver of the truck, Eric Fariñas, of Sara, Iloilo, was also injured in the accident.
He was reportedly drunk that’s why he lost control in driving the truck. He was admitted in Bailan District Hospital and was strictly being secured by the authority for further investigation.
