TIAONG, Quezon -- Police operatives yesterday arrested an employee of the municipal government following the confiscation of suspected drugs in his possession during a drug-bust operation in Villa Rosario Subd., Bgy. Lumingon, here.
Town police head Supt. Joriz Cantoria identified the suspect as Ronilo de Guino, 35, utility worker of the Municipal Agriculturist's Office, of Bgy. Poblacion 3.
Cantoria said De Guino was caught handing a plastic sachet containing white substance believed to be shabu to a poseur buyer at 1 a.m.
When frisked, De Guino yielded another two plastic sachets containing similar powder inserted in a cigarette pack and a small candy box as they also recovered the marked money, a P100 bill and two P200 bills, Cantoria said.
He said the suspect was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and detained at the municipal lock-up jail.
In a phone interview, Cantoria said their intensified anti-drug campaign, in consonance with the directive of Quezon police director Senior Supt. Ericson Velasquez and Mayor Dick Umali, is continously gaining positive results.
