POLICE arrested four suspected drug pushers in Angeles City and held a man for illegal possession of a gun in Tarlac City.
Members of Police Station 2 in Angeles City, Intelligence Branch of the city police and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Team-Pampanga, arrested the four suspects in a raid in Bgy. Pampang.
Chief Insp. Julius Caesar Mana of the CIDT-Pampanga identified the suspects as Salvador Cabangbang, 27, Billy Torres, 22, Jovel Say Morales, 23, and Conrado Alarcon, 53, all of Bgy. Pampang.
The suspects were arrested on a tip of an informant who said that he saw them in Bgy. Pampang and that the former robbed the office of Aguarus Security Agency in Bgy. Sto. Domingo here last Dec. 30.
Police proceeded to the area and allegedly found the suspects repacking suspected marijuana leaves to be sold to drug dependents.
Upon sensing of the presence of lawmen, the suspects scampered but were collared by policemen who were already positioned around the shanty.
Confiscated from the suspects were three Smith & Wesson .38 revolvers with live bullets and one large and 15 medium-sized transparent plastic filled with suspected marijuana fruiting tops.
Investigators said that the confiscated guns were part of the 18 units of .38 revolvers stolen from the office of Aguarus Security Agency.
The suspects were detained at Police Station 2, facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Tarlac City, police arrested a man for carrying an unlicensed gun last Saturday in Bgy. San Vicente.
Tarlac provincial police director Senior Supt. Alfred Corpus identified the suspect as Mario Rigor Navarro, 46, of Bgy. San Vicente.
Initial investigation disclosed that SPO1 Rodelio Lagrimas was having his snack at the Lugaw Republic in the said barangay when the suspect pulled out a gun.
Seeing the incident, Lagrimas accosted the suspect and confiscated his Norinco .45 pistol with one magazine loaded with seven cartridges.
The suspect failed to present document for the gun.
Corpus lauded Lagrimas for doing his duty as a policeman even in a difficult situation. Lagrimas said that when he saw the suspect creating trouble, he asked permission from the owner of the establishment to use their comfort room to get his gun which he left in his car.
When he went back, he introduced himself to the suspect and immediately arrested him.
Navarro will be charged with violation of RA 8294.
