FOUR teenagers were drowned while swimming in a beach the other day in Toledo City, Cebu.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. identified the victims as Mae Ariate, 16, Dindo Marata Blanco, 14, Joseph Tukib Blanco, 14, and Jason Gabiano Asuzenas, 14.
Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. off Bgy. Dumblog, Toledo City.
Investigators said the victims were swimming in the area when they were swept away by big waves.
After several minutes, the victims’ bodies were recovered by rescuers and taken to the hospital where they were declared dead on arrival. Zaida delos Reyes-Palanca
