FIVE fishermen were wounded while another was missing when the fishing boat they were riding capsized the other day off Camarines Norte village.
National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Benito Ramos identified the missing fisherman as Cading Cabalero.
The wounded were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. off Bgy. 5, Mercedes, Camarines Norte.
Investigators said the victims were on board a fishing boat loaded with bamboos when it was hit by big waves, causing it to capsize.
Heavy rains in the Bicol Region were triggered by a low pressure area, causing floods in several provinces.
Rescuers recovered the boat in Bgy. San Roque and rescued the wounded fishermen.
