Meycauayan appliance store robbers arrested


MEYCAUAYAN City -- Police arrested two suspected robbers of an appliance center on MacArthur Highway, Bgy. Calvario, early Wednesday morning.

Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez Jr., Bulacan police director, identified the suspects as Jonathan Solomon, alias Tatan, and Joel Francisco, alias Joel Kabayo, both  of Maligaya St., Bgy. Malhacan, this city.

Meycauayan police chief Supt. Hector Samar said the incident happened between 1 and 3 a.m. at Edison Appliance Center owned by Edison Luna.

Investigators said the suspects entered the store by destroying the lobber block window and carted away seven assorted cellphones  worth P140,000 and P120,000.

The incident was discovered by Cai Cong Wei, 20, supervisor of the appliance center at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Upon receiving the report, police sent an alarm to adjacent cities and municipalities that resulted in the arrest of two of the suspects in Bgy. Malhacan.

Recovered from the suspects were six stolen cellphones.

One of the suspects, Ruel Labutap, alias Dorbok, of Maligaya St., Bgy. Malhacan, remains at large.

Charges of robbery with force upon things have been filed against the suspects before the Office of the City Prosecutor, Meycauayan City.
