INIHAYAG ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na hihingan nila ng paliwanag ang kanilang tauhan sa Negros Oriental kaugnay sa mga report na walang nakararating na mga relief goods sa bayan ng Guihulngan.
Ayon kay DSWD Director Ping Solim, dapat linawin ng kanilang tauhan ang reklamo ng mga residente sa lugar sapagkat sapat ang tulong na ipinadala ng ahensiya sa mga nabiktima ng magnitude 6.9 na lindol noong February 6.
Nitong Lunes lamang ay personal silang nagdala ng mga good packs, tent, clothes, mosquito nets, mineral water at iba pang pangangailangan ng mga residente sa Negros Oriental, Dumaguete at mga lugar na matindi ring sinalanta ng lindol.
Sa Guihulngan ay may itinalaga naman silang tauhan na nagdala ng mga relief goods kung kaya’t imposible umano na hindi nakarating sa mga biktima ang tulong ng departamento.
Inamin naman ni Solim na hirap silang marating ang mga naninirahan sa mga bulubunduking lugar kung kaya’t gumagawa sila ng paraan na mahikayat ang mga ito na magtungo sa patag para matanggap ang tulong ng pamahalaan
Ayon kay Solim, tuluy-tuloy pa rin ang tulong na ibinibigay ng gobyerno sa pamamagitan ng DSWD at iba pang mga ahensiya hanggang hindi pa nakakabalik sa normal na buhay ang mga naapektuhang mga residente na nabiktima ng lindol.
