THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) sent fresh fish to Negros Oriental and other places severely hit by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake.
BFAR Director Asis Perez said a total of 40 boxes containing hundred of tamban fish were distributed by the agency to the victims of the earthquake last week.
Perez said the agency have already brought three tons of milkfish or bangus and tamban fish in the public market of Negros Oriental for public consumption and in order to bring back to normal the prices of fish.
He said they received information that majority of the fishermen in those areas could not go fishing because of the earthquake.
According to Perez, the fresh fish could be bought at affordable prices.
