BALAGTAS, Bulacan -- A 28-year-old man was charged for qualified theft while five others for violation of anti-fencing law for buying 40 sacks of palay worth P40,000 in Intercity, Bgy. San Juan, here, Monday.
In a report to Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez, Bulacan provincial director, he identified the arrested suspects as Reneboy Teodoro, 28, married, warehouse man of Vergara-Jardenil Rice Mill, of 227 Bgy. Perez, Bulakan, Bulacan; Aldwin San Pedro, 29, married, rice mill agent, of Bgy. Paitan, Baliuag; Edwin Bernardo, 25, married, rice mill agent, of Sampaguita St., Barmat, Bgy. Wawa, Balagtas; Alexander Chico, 44, married, tricycle driver, of Bgy. Poblacion, Arayat, Pampanga; Ricardo Reyes, 53, truck driver; and Alvin Cruz, 44, married, both are residents of Bgy. Dulong Ilog, Candaba, Pampanga.
Initial investigation disclosed that victim Joan Nalus reported to Balagtas police the alleged rampant theft incidents in her rice mill wherein one of his warehouse men identified as Teodoro and his unidentified buyers were suspected to be involved.
The victim also added that the incidents were reportedly discovered thru closed-circuit television cameras installed in the said rice mill. The suspect insert sacks of palay in the pile of gilik or palay residues. Manny Balbin
