MALOLOS City -- Joint elements of city police and Provincial Public Safety Company killed an unidentified carnapper during an encounter in Bgy. Bulihan, Thursday night.
In a report to Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez Jr., Bulacan police director, Malolos police chief Supt. David Poklay said the armed encounter occurred in Sitio Bliss, Bgy. Bulihan, Malolos City at around 9:30 p.m.
Poklay said the encounter stemmed from a report of the victim, Geronimo Lazarte, 48, married, businessman, resident of the said barangay, that his Suzuki Hayate motorcycle (5641 CK) was stolen while parked unattended near the convenience store in Bgy. San Vicente.
Immediately, Malolos policemen and and Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives (MASCO) conducted an operation for the possible arrest of the suspect.
The team spotted the stolen motorcycle driven by the suspect while passing through Blas Ople Road in Bgy. Bulihan on board the stolen motorcycle.
Police chased the suspect along Malanggam Road and a brief exchange of gunfire ensued, killing the suspect.
A Scene of the Crime Operatives team from the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office found a caliber .38 revolver and improvised keys being used in stealing motorcycles at the crime scene.
Poklay told People’s Tonight that the description of the suspect fitted the composite sketch of a carnapping suspect involved in previous incidents who has a “G CLEF” tattoo on the right portion of his neck.
