POLICE are investigating the case of two men found dead inside a burned-out car that bore bullet holes in Batangas City the other night.
Philippine National Police spokesman C/Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the remains of the two still unidentified victims were found inside a burning Honda Jazz in Bgy. Tinga Itaas, Batangas City, 10 p.m. Friday.
The car with a still unknown license plate had the engine no. TSJABU72007. Its registered owner is still being checked with the Land Transportation Office.
Police Regional Office 4-A director C/Supt. James Andres Melad said responding policemen discovered the bodies of the two victims inside the burning vehicle following a report from concerned residents.
The car, according to the investigators, bore multiple bullet holes. Police also recovered dozens of spent caliber 9mm, .45 and M-16 casings at the scene.
He said Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives have yet to release the result of their technical investigation at the scene. Follow-up operations are still underway to identify and arrest the suspects. Zaida delos Reyes-Palaca & Alfred Dalizon
