A notorious holdupman was killed in an encounter with policemen the other night in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
The slain suspect was identified as Eric Valencia, of Sitio Bagong Anyo, Bgy. Pagsawitan, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the suspect was killed in an encounter at 11:30 p.m. a few meters away from his house.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect was spotted by responding policemen at the dimply portion of the road wearing wig. When he was approached by lawmen, the suspect fired his gun at the officers who retaliated, killing him on the spot.
It was learned that the suspect has been the object of a manhunt operation for his involvement in a series of robbery-holdup incidents in the province when he was spotted in the area during police operation.
Recovered at the scene were a caliber .38 revolver with two cartridges, a wig, two fired bullets, a black Rusi motorcycle (6337-DM), two bonnets, a duck tape and a swiss knife.
