AMADEO, Cavite -- This upland town in 6th district will celebrate the Pahimis Coffee Festival from Feb. 17 to 18 with streetdancing and free-flowing of coffee as highlights.
Mayor Benjarde Villanueva said a spectacular Mardi-Gras-like streetdancing, participated in by local schools in colorfull costumes as the Provincial Board led by Vice Governor and Presiding Officer Recto Cantimbuhan and Majority Floor Leader and 1st District Board Member Dino Carlo Chua passed a resolution requested by Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. to allot P1,300,000 for this year’s coffee festival.
Amadeo, tagged as coffee capital of the Phillipines, is one of the tourist destinations in the province, where one of the best coffee beans in the country is cultivated.
The Pahimis Coffee Festival is one of annual events in Cavite launched by then mayor and now 6th district BM OJ Ambagan in 2002 backed by then governor and now Imus Rep. Ayong Maliksi as a way of giving thanks to God Almighty for the bountiful harvest every February of the year.
Villanueva, together with Governor Remulla, 6th district Rep. Ony Ferrer, General Trias Mayor Luis Ferrer IV and local officials, will lead the activities at the municipal grounds.
