Gunmen kill three, hurt 1 in Batangas


THREE persons, including a couple, were killed while another was wounded when unidentified suspects shot them shortly after they attended a hearing to their drug case the other day in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. identified the fatalities as Felipe Garcia Torio, 55, his wife Lydia De Vera Torio, 55, and Arnold Baldovino Dulay, 35, driver, both of Sitio Roxas Village, Bgy. Lumbangan, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Taken to the Apacible  Memorial District Hospital for treatment was Alejandro Torio, helper, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. in Sitio Sagbat, Bgy. Lumbangan.

Initial investigation revealed that the victims were on their way home after attending a court hearing regarding their drug case at Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 14 when the incident happened.

Four unidentified suspects wearing bonnets on board a four-wheeled vehicle peppered the victims with bullets, killing three of them and wounding another. The suspects fled towards unknown direction.

Recovered at the scene were 41 shells for .45 pistol.
