SK exec killed over traffic dispute!

THE man on the motorcycle chased the patrol car of SK Secretary Rodel Opulencia, 35. Both men were allegedly fighting over space on the highway. Amid the honking of horns from other vehicles, shots rang out. The motorbike rider had apparently decided to end the traffic dispute by killing his rival for breathing room on the road.

Opulencia, married, of Bgy. Lawa, Calamba, Laguna, died on the spot due to three gunshot wounds in different parts of the body, according to Supt. Armel Gongona, police  chief.

A report received by Laguna PNP provincial director  Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz showed the incident occurred 10:20 p.m. Wednesday along the national highway in Bgy. Banay-Banayan, Cabuyao, Laguna.

It was learned that the suspect and Opulencia were fighting over space on the national highway. A chase reportedly occurred with the man on the motorcycle tailing Opulencia’s patrol car.

Unknown to Opulencia, the motorbike rider chasing them had a .45-caliber gun. When the suspect got nearer, he peppered the patrol car with bullets.

Opulencia was hit as he was seated at the back of the vehicle. His driver was unharmed.

The suspect managed to escape.
