ANGELES CITY – A construction worker died instantly while his live-in partner was seriously wounded after two Muslim vendors allegedly shot them inside their home in Barangay Balibago yesterday morning.
City police station 4 commander Chief Insp. Luisito Tan identified the fatality as Osmundo dela Cruz, 32, and the wounded as Roxanne Fernandez, 27, both of Santos Street.
SPO4 Romeo Amarillo and SPO2 Jose Capinpin III arrested the suspects Jason Ampaso, 26, and Sahaban Monte Dibaraten, 19, both Muslim vendors, shortly after the attack.
Police said the two motorcycle-riding suspects barged into the house of the victims.
Witnesses said the suspects were talking to the couple when one of them pulled out a handgun and shot Dela Cruz twice in the head.
The gunman turned to Fernandez and fired at her once before fleeing on the same motorcycle.
A witness said he managed to hit one of the suspects with a steel pipe but they were still able to flee.
Fernandez was rushed to the Ospital Ning Angeles for treatment.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the attack. Bernard Galang
