CAMP Olivas, Pampanga – A Korean national was found dead inside a rented room in KOA Hotel on Amor St., Bgy. Anunas, Angeles City, last Saturday.
Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono, Angeles City police director, identified the victim as Nam Sang Chul, 55.
Recomono said the victim was found dead inside his room at about 9:30 a.m. by employees of hotel.
Police said the victim checked-in at around 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2012.
After taking his dinner at about 8 p.m., that same day, the victim went to his room.
Hotel employees came to know that the victim is dead through the latter’s friend Shin Yung Keon, also a Korean billeted at the same hotel.
Keon told investigators that he called the victim on his cellphone when he woke up at around 9:30. After making several calls, Keon said the victim failed to answer his phone.
This prompted hotel employees to open the victim’s room with a duplicate key and found him dead on his bed.
According to Keon, the victim before his death, was suffering from an illness unknown to him.
Recomono said the victim was brought to Funeraria Galang for autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
Members of the SOCO team ruled out foul play on the death of the victim.
