TWO more sports utility vehicles stolen in Metro Manila and shipped to Mindanao where they were given fraudulent Land Registration Office papers and license plates were seized by agents of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group this week, PNP-HPG director Chief Supt. Leonardo A. Espina said yesterday.
Last Wednesday, Espina said members of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 11 led by Chief Inspector Jemiper Gamido impounded a green Mitsubishi Pajero with plate no. MCC-283 which turned out to be an SUV stolen in Quezon City on November 7, 2006.
Espina said a record check showed that the Pajero originally registered under the name of Ernesto Paulino Jr. of GSIS Village, Project 8, QC, and with the original plate no. ECP-111 was stolen while parked unattended along Mahusay Street corner Matiwasay St. in UP Village, QC, in November 2006.
The SUV’s current possessor identified as Roberto Cerna of Purok 4, La Libertad, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte is now undergoing investigation.
On Friday, RHPU11 personnel led by Senior Police Officer 3 Noel Seno intercepted a stolen white 2003 model Mitsubishi Pajero during an anti-carnapping patrol in Ladislawa Village in Buhangin, Davao City. Alfred Dalizon
