TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija -- Illegal drugs said to be worth less than P500,000 were seized while four persons, including a 20-year-old female guest relations officer, were arrested in a buy-bust operation inside a resort here Friday night.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Roberto L. Aliggayu identified the suspects as Felix Santiago, alias Marco, 39, a junk shop owner, of Bgy. Cojuango, Sta. Rosa; Emilio Roque, 41, machine shop operator, of Bgy. Rizdelis; Johnson Nagano, 20, driver, of Bgy. M.S. Garcia; and Angelica Cayabyab, 20, guest relations officer, of Daang Sarile, Cabanatuan City.
Police tagged Nagano as one of those included in the drug watch list of the Cabanatuan Police Station.
Provincial police intelligence chief Supt. Ricardo E. Villanueva said the drug bust was conducted at Crystal Waves Hotel and Resort in Bgy. Dinarayat at around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
PO3 Arnold Alfonso and PO1 Renante Millan sealed the deal and later conducted the successful operation, Villanueva said.
Seized from the suspects were 55 plastic sachets containing at least 45 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P450,000 and the P5,000 marked money.
Prior to the drug bust, surveillance operations were conducted against Santiago and his men, who had been monitored to be staying at the hotel for six days, said Villanueva.
Charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against the suspects who were locked up at the police detention here.
