OLONGAPO City – A man claiming to be a civilian agent of the Philippine Army was arrested at a Comelec checkpoint in Barangay Barreto for carrying a gun.
City police head Sr. Supt. Christopher Tambungan identified the suspect as Ricardo Madeja, 36, of Barangay Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales.
Madeja was on a motorcycle when lawmen headed by Sr. Insp. Gil Domingo flagged him down at the checkpoint in Barangay Barreto.
The suspect introduced himself as a civilian agent of the Philippine Army’s 7th ID and claimed he was carrying a licensed gun and a mission order.
However policemen held Madeja after he failed to present an exemption certificate from the Comelec. Seized from him was a .9mm pistol with two magazines both loaded with 13 live ammunition. Mamer Bañez
