IED found inside mayor’s vehicle

AN OPEN type improvised explosive device (IED) was found inside the service vehicle of Cavite City Mayor Romeo G. Ramos the other day.

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Chief Supt Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the IED was found at around 12:20 p.m. underneath the right middle seat of black Hyundai Starex van (SHX-771) driven by Reynaldo Barbon Madlangbayan.

Initial investigation revealed that the said vehicle was undergoing auto service at Master Fix Enterprises on Aguinaldo Highway, Bayan Luma 4, Imus, Cavite.

Recovered from the vehicle were a Nokia cellphone 1280 with smart sim card used as switch power source and triggering device, two improvised blasting caps with Christmas tree light bulb, detonating cord used as booster and mixture of C2 and TNT flake, a military explosive used as main charge.
