Motorcycle thief falls, stolen bike recovered


MALOLOS, Bulacan -- The Baliuag police arrested a suspected motorcycle thief and recovered a stolen motorcycle in Bgy. Makinabang, Wednesday.

Senior Supt. Fernando Mendez Jr., Bulacan police director, identified the arrested suspect as Federico de Leon, 35,  married, jobless, of 338 Pulo, Lumbac, Pulilan, Bulacan.

The suspect’s cohorts escaped but one of them was identified by the witness through the rogue gallery as Michael Reyes, of 57 Dr. Gonzales St., Bgy. Sabang, Baliwag, Bulacan.

Supt. Rizalino Andaya, Baliuag police chief,  said the victim Millie Pua, 41, married, Chinese national, of Nenita’s Apartment in Navarro Subdivision, Bgy. Makinabang, reported the carnapping incident.

Initial investigation showed that at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Reynaldo Marinas, of Bgy. Makinabang, saw four suspicious-looking persons starting a motorcycle at the grassy portion of the DRT Hi-way (in Bgy. Makinabang). Marinas immediately reported the incident to barangay officials. The information was then relayed to the personnel of Baliwag police and a team of policemen immediately dispatched together with the bgy. tanods of Makinabang.

De Leon was placed under the custody of Baliuag police. He faces charges of violation of Republic Act 6539 also known as the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.
