TO ease the movement of traffic along Quirino Highway in Quezon City, a new road project that would cut across Mindanao Avenue will soon be implemented.
This was disclosed by Mayor Herbert Bautista who said that the city government is looking into the possibility of acquiring certain private lands in Bgys. Bagbag and San Bartolome in District 5 which are needed for the road project.
The mayor said that since the proposed project will cut across certain private properties, the city will also be negotiating for the road rights of way.
In this regard, Bautista said the city will be requesting Congressmen Christopher “Kit” Belmonte and Alfred Vargas for support.
“A study on the traffic movement along Quirino Highway is imperative with the impending road widening of Gen. Luis Street by 2016,” the mayor said.
Quirino Highway is considered as the gateway to the northern part of the city and also being used by motorists bound for the ‘bukid’ area of Caloocan City and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan.
