TOLLWAYS operators will put up additional ambulant tellers and beef up their security and medical teams in preparation for the expected exodus of Holy Week travellers next week.
This was announced by the tree biggest and longest freeways in the country as they alerted their personnel for the safety of travelers and motorists during Holy Week.
Operators of Skyway, South Luzon Expressway and Star Tollways said they suspended all road repairs in the entire stretch of the freeways.
The tollways groups said they will implement “zipper lane” or counterflow lane during rush hours.
“Once we sense the bulk of motorists started to fill up, we will immediately implement the zipper lanes to prevent the buildup of motorists in the exit and entrance points of the freeways,” the tollways groups said.
One thing is sure, SLEX, Skyway and STAR tollways personnel are ready to serve motorists for their safety.
The tollways group said they are expecting a f 20% to 30% increase in the bulk of motorists during Holy Week.
Toll operators encouraged motorists or travelers to diligently plan their trips and avoid the rush.
Based on the observation of the tollways group, the bulk of traveler or motorists usually starts at noon of Wednesday until Thursday afternoon.
