PHILIPPINE National Police deputy chief for administration Deputy Director General Rommel DF Heredia retires today after nearly 39 years in military and police service.
Heredia, a recipient of more than 50 awards and decorations, is a veteran intelligence and operations officer. He commanded the PNP Headquarters Support Service and the Directorate for Police-Community Relations before joining the PNP Command Group, first as PNP Chief Directorial Staff on May last year, then as PNP deputy chief for operations and eventually, the PNP deputy chief for administration.
He became the highest-ranked member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1979 in the police organization.
Heredia’s retirement will trigger a reorganization of the PNP Command Group and some key PNP offices, the Journal Group learned.
Next in line to replace Heredia as PNP’s no. 2 man is the current PNP deputy chief for operations, Deputy Director General Ager P. Ontog Jr. of PMA Class 1980. Ontog retires on August 21 next year. Alfred Dalizon
