A FORMER soldier allegedly turned drug peddler and behind a series of robberies in Taguig City yesterday was shot dead by four men on a motorcycle, alleged members of the so-called Deadly Death Squad (RIT-DDS).
Killed was former Philippine Army Capt. Noel Laceda, 40, and resident of Building 3 No. 106 MRB Condominium, Barangay Ususan, Taguig City.
Laceda instantaneously died when the suspects shot him repeatedly at close range.
The suspects immediately sped away when Laceda fell on the ground.
Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario, Director of Southern Police District (SPD), said the incident took place at 1:40 a.m. near the pumping station in Barangay Wawa, Taguig City.
He said Laceda had been tagged as behind robbery-holdups in Taguig and was a known drug pusher.
