FOUR armed men riddled with bullets a 49-year-old man who was resting in front of his home in Sampaloc, Manila, early yesterday morning. The victim died on the spot due to 19 gunshot wounds in the body.
A footage from the barangay’s closed circuit television showed that the victim, identified as Ernesto Tapang, of 1937 Fermiza St., Sampaloc, Manila, was resting when a Mitsubishi Adventure stopped in front of him at around 3 a.m. The first suspect got out of the passenger seat already armed and shot the victim repeatedly.
The three other occupants of the vehicle got off and joined the first suspect as they also fired at the victim simultaneously.
Police said the victim may have been a victim of mistaken identity since he has no derogatory record of any sort and neither had he been involved in any criminal or drug activities.
