7 drug suspects slain in Bulacan encounters

BULACAN policemen yesterday morning shot dead seven armed suspected drug traffickers in separate buy-bust operations which ended up in gunbattles after the suspects sensed they were being entrapped, Bulacan Provincial Police Office director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said.

One of the suspects, identified as Restituto Ramos, alias ‘Lakay,’ exchanged fire with policemen who raided his house at 767 Bgy. Parulan, Plaridel town, at 4:05 a.m., said the official. He said that officers armed with a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 raided the house of the suspect but were forced to return fire when he began shooting at them.
   
The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, was killed on the spot.
   
In San Miguel municipality, officers clashed with one suspected drug personality, known only as alias ‘JR,’ after he sold drugs to a poseur in Bgy. Sta. Rita at 6 a.m. yesterday. 
   
The suspect was killed while trading shots with lawmen. He was found in possession of a cal. .38 revolver, two sachets of shabu and a motorcycle (6047-RB).
   
In Meycauayan City, officers, headed by Supt. Orlando Castil Jr., shot and killed armed drug suspect Armando de Guzman during a firefight inside the suspect’s house in Bancal Extension 5:30 in the morning.
   
Caramat said his men were about to search the suspect’s house on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Sita Jose Clemente, of the Malolos City Regional Trial Court Branch 16, when he traded shots with the policemen.
   
Officers fired back and killed the suspect. Found in his residence were a cal. .45 pistol, a fragmentation grenade, a cal. .22 revolver, several heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
   
Caramat said also arrested during the raid were the slain suspect’s live-in partner, Abby Springdel Capistrano, and one Alex Lingahan, who is believed to be a drug ‘runner.’
   
Lingahan yielded several sachets of shabu and suspected stolen motorcycles.
   
In Bgy. Bagbaguin, Pandi municipality, undercover officers shot dead an armed suspected drug pusher, identified only as alias ‘America,’ during a brief firefight at 12:15 a.m. yesterday. The official said that the suspect pulled out a concealed revolver after sensing the entrapment operation, prompting officers to fire back.
   
In Bgy. Tambubong, San Rafael municipality, police clashed with two armed drug suspects at 12:36 a.m., killing both on the spot.
   
Investigators said the suspects yielded two loaded cal. .38 revolvers and several drug evidence. The tricycle they were riding was impounded at the local police headquarters.
   
In Bgy. Muzon, San Jose del Monte City, officers led by Senior Insp. Joel Alba engaged an armed drug dealer, known only as alias ‘Abdul,’ in a firefight at 5:30 in the morning, killing him on the spot. The suspect yielded a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, the marked P500 bill paid to him by the undercover agent and a cal. .38 revolver, said San Jose del Monte City Police Station chief Supt. Marlon Santos.
   
Caramat said they are also investigating the killing of one Jeffrey Linayao, alias ‘Boy Negro,’ the no. 1 drug personality in Bgy. Abangan Sur in Marilao town at 11:20 p.m. Monday.
   
He said two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen shot the victim without any provocation. The killers escaped after leaving a piece of paper with the words ‘Wag Tularan Tulak’ near the victim’s body.
