AT least 11 persons were arrested, including a hair technician, in separate anti-drug operations Sunday and before dawn yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Veberlyn Balisnomo, 40, hair technician, of 114 I. Marcelo St., Lingahan, Malanday, yielded two plastic sachets of shabu when arrested during a buy-bust operation at 1:30 a.m. yesterday in RBB Libo II by elements of the Valenzuela Police Intelligence Branch.
In Bgy. Canumay East, Reynaldo Pastor, 38, of 4048 Bonifacio Street was arrested by elements of Police Community Precinct (PCP) 1 after he sold three packs of shabu to a police decoy at 12:45 p.m. Sunday along G. Molina Street.
At around 4 a.m., operatives of PCP-4, led by PO3 Marvin Cereno, raided a suspected drug den at 232 A. Santos St., Bgy. Malinta and arrested seven drug personalities who were caught in the act of sniffing shabu while playing card games locally known as “tong-its.”
Valenzuela police chief Senior Insp. Ronaldo Mendoza identified the arrested suspects as Ricky Morada, 35, alleged owner of suspected drug den; Jar-Ar Cayab, 31, Aldwin Mercado, 36, Rodolfo Llando, 28, Jhommil Benitez, 24, Marcko Renzal, 24, and Joven Andales, 31.
Police recovered in the area several drug paraphernalia, plastic sachet with residue of suspected shabu and playing cards.
Earlier at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, personnel from PCP-10 were conducting routine patrol when they chanced upon three suspicious persons in a dimly-lit portion at the corner of Sto. Rosario and C.F. Natividad Streets, Bgy. Mapulang Lupa.
The suspects scampered to different directions when they noticed the approaching policemen who gave chase and subsequently arrested two of them, identified as John Paul Matero, 20, of 6127 S. Feliciano St. and Louie Petalvo, 22, of 6434 Sto. Rosario St., while their cohort managed to escape.
Police recovered from the suspects two transparent plastic sachets containing undetermined quantity of suspected shabu.
