AN additional force to augment security personnel at the premier airport terminals this Yuletide season was put in place by the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group.

Its director Chief Supt. Mao Aplasca has announced that a total of 93 new police officers arrived at its headquarters after graduating from the Regional Training Center 3 in Sto. Niño, Magalang, Pampanga.
The augmentation force was received by the Training Section of the Quality Assurance and Doctrine Division and will be augmented at the Mobile Patrol Security Unit (MPSU) for the duration of the holiday season.
It was learned that the rookie cops will be posted at the checkpoints of all entrance and exits of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, for the purpose of providing continuous police visibility through foot, mobile and motorcycle within the airport complex.
In January, they will undergo a series of training in compliance with the National Aviation Security Program (NASP). This training will be on Basic Aviation Course, Moral Recovery Program, Defense Tactics and Techniques and Aircraft Counter Hijacking Course.
Basic Aviation Course comprises the first set of training. It is a package training for 12 days, with the primary purpose of equipping the participants with knowledge and skills needed to deal with the complexities of aviation security.   AVSEC measures and procedures being implemented at all airports nationwide will be the main focus of the trainings and include briefings, lectures, media presentation and practical exercises on various related subjects.
With the said training, the newly-graduated AVSEGROUP personnel are expected to gain knowledge on how to implement and apply airport security measures on their projected assignment at landside and airside of the airports in the differet parts of the country.
Incorporated into the Basic Aviation Course is ‘moral and spiritual enhancement’ with the aim of honing their ethical standards when it comes to the aspects of decision-making, financial, relational, mental, physical, vocational and emotional.
The AVSEGROUP’s endeavor is in line with the P.A.T.R.O.L PLAN 2030 (Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding the Rule of Law) of the PNP.  Said activity allows the personnel to discover their personal vision, mission and values.
