THE Philippines and Cambodia have inked four agreements covering deals on the fight against transnational crime, labor, sports, and tourism.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen witnessed the signing at Phnom Penh, Cambodia of the deals at the Peace Palace during the second day of the Philippine leader’s state visit.
Representatives from the Philippines and Cambodia signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Philippine National Police and the Cambodian National Police on Cooperation in Combating Transnational Crime and the Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines Concerning the Cooperation in the Field of Labor.
Also signed were the Memorandum of Agreement Between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Philippines Sports Commission of the Republic of the Philippines on Sports Cooperation and Implementation Program of Tourism Cooperation 2016-2020 between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Department of Tourism of the Republic of the Philippines.
Prior to the signing ceremony, President Duterte had a tete-a-tete with Prime Minister Hun Sen.
It was followed by an expanded bilateral meeting where President Duterte was accompanied by the Philippine delegation including Cabinet officials and lawmakers.
President Duterte kicked off his second day in Cambodia during the arrival ceremony at the Throne Hall, Royal Palace Grounds.
