A murder suspect, killing an unidentified man who was begging for his life, was caught on closed circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the area Thursday night in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief Senior Supt. John Chua said the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Gen. Luna Street in Bgy. Concepcion when a lone gunman repeatedly shot the hapless victim in the head and body, killing him instantly.

Prior to the killing, the victim was walking along the road when the suspect, who was following him from behind shot him once in the back. Though wounded, the victim managed to run until he was cornered.

The video footage showed that the victim knelt, raised his hands and begged for his life but the suspect still repeatedly shot him in the head and body. The assailant took something from the victim’s pocket before he fled on foot.

Senior Insp. Paul Dennis Javier, the head of investigators, said a follow-up operation is now being conducted while the motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
