Alleged members of the “Termite Gang” carted away an undetermined amount of money from the Bank of Makati branch on Colago Avenue, Bgy. VI-E, San Pablo City, yesterday morning.
A report by Supt. Raymond Rosero, San Pablo police chief, said the robbery incident was first discovered by bank employees right after they arrive in their office at 8:30 in the morning.
The robbery incident was immediately reported to bank manager Aloha Mañunay, who said a hole was discovered about three meters away from the front door.
The suspects also used acetylene in destroying the bank vault which contained of undetermined amount of cash and important documents.
Initial investigation conducted by Senior Insp. Mario David said that the suspects reportedly entered thru a manhole about 70 meters away Cosico Avenue.
“Lahat ng mga bangko dito sa lungsod ay binigyan na namin ng pag-iingat lalo ngayong sasapit ang Kapaskuhan. Nagkataon na walang guwardiya sa gabi na posibleng naganap ang pagpasok ng mga suspek,” Daved said.
Meanwhile, Acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito has ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects as the city police are following leads to the robbery.
