TANAUAN City, Batangas -- A 32-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding men while traversing along the JP Laurel Highway, Bgy. Darasa, here, Tuesday morning.
City police commander Supt. Robert Rodelas Baesa identified the slain triker as Alexander Burgos Barrion, married, native of Bgy. Boot, Tanauan City and presently residing in Kassel Pacific Subd., Bgy. San Pedro 1, Malvar, Batangas.
The incident was reported to the Tanauan City Police Station at 5:20 a.m. on November 22.
Detective PO1 Leo Arnie S. Leycano with other cops proceeded to the area to investigate.
Leycano said that at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, the victim, who is on the police drug watchlist, was driving his Kawasaki Barako tricycle (WY 8709) and heading to Tanauan City to drop his sister Analyn Burgos Barrion to the shuttle service pick-up point when a motorcycle-riding suspects suddenly approached the victim and shot him twice.
As a result, the victim fell into the concrete pavement with blood oozing all over his head.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound in the head.
The suspect sped away towards Tanauan City proper.
A Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team processed the crime scene where two shell casings and two deformed slugs for cal. .45 were recovered.
The victim’s body now lies at Zenaida Lim De Mesa Funeral Homes for autopsy.
