Bangladeshi trader slain in front of wife

A Bangladeshi businessman based in the country was riddled with bullets the other night in front of his wife while they were walking on their way home near the Golden Mosque in Quiapo, Manila.

Now under observation at the hospital where he was brought is Tanim Ahmad, 32, of 508 Shariff Mansion, Quiapo. He sustained six bullet wounds in the chest and back.
   
The lone suspect, a male who remains unidentified, was said to have fled on foot after the shooting, bringing with him the gun he used.
   
Initial investigation by SPO4 Noel Villamor of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 3 said that the incident took plce at 8:20 p.m. near the Golden Mosque. The victim and his wife Irine had just gotten off their vehicle and were already walking on their way home when the suspect appeared from nowhere and began firing at the victim.
   
Irine told the police that she was spared by the gunman, who ran away after the victim fell to the ground.
   
Investigation is still being done to establish the identity of the suspect and the motive behind the said shooting.
