Fil-Am elected councilor in New Jersey

Filipino -American in New Jersey who was elected councilor during the recent United States general elections is expected to work for the promotion of Filipinos’ welfare, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has said.

Philippine Consul General to New York Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega recently met with Mr. Salvador “Buddy” Deauna, newly-elected councilor of Bergenfield in New Jersey, at the Philippine Consulate General in New York.

Deauna is an active member of the Filipino-American community in New Jersey who easily won his first electoral bid for councilor  last November 8 elections

Dizon-De Vega congratulated  Deauna and discussed possible areas of cooperation to promote the welfare of the Fil-Am community in Bergenfield.
   
Deauna hails from Camarines Norte and runs several businesses in New Jersey. He also served on the Zoning Board of Bergenfield while his wife Mrs. Cely Deauna serves on the Library Board.
