LIPA City -- Bella Panopio Cantos, 42, dentist, and his hubby Aldwin Tevar Cantos, 40, a businessman, both of B10, L6 & 7, Phase 5, Motoles St., Edinburgh, Lipa Royale Subdivision, Bgy. Inosluban, here, were held up at gunpoint by six suspects in Purok 6, Bgy. Mun-ting Pulo, on Tuesday.
The couple identified the suspects as Anthony Macatangay Alzate, 36, married, laborer, of Purok 6, Bgy. Munting Pulo; and Luis Hernandez Bautista, of Sitio Sto. Toribio, Bgy. Marawoy, this city; and four John Does.
A security guard of Lipa Royale Subdivision located in Bgy. Inosluban informed the police that the robbery incident transpired at 9:20 p.m.
Acting on the report, a team, led by Insp. Nestor Resma Balita responded with investigators SPO1 Ronilo C. Balita, PO3 June O. Gonzales and PO2 Homer G. Mercado.
Investigation showed that at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, the victims, with their two children, had just arrived at their residence on board their Ford Ranger (ELA-801) and parked the vehicle at the garage.
At that instance, the armed suspects suddenly appeared from the dark, approached the victims and at gunpoint, forced the victims to get inside the house.
The suspects then ordered the victims to open the door of their rooms and carted away cash and valuable items, totalling P355,000.
Before leaving the house, the suspects threatened the victims not to report the incident to the police for at least two hours but they failed to get the cellphone of the housemaid.
The victims were able to seek assistance from the security officer of the subdivision.
The suspects fled on foot.
The identified suspects, who were positively pinpointed by the victims in the police gallery, are now hunted by police operatives.
