A WOMAN was shot dead by unidentified suspects in a dark portion of Singalong Street, Malate, Manila, yesterday morning.

The victim, who was riddled with bullets in the face and body, died on the spot. She was described as about 22 to 26 years old, about five feet tall, dark-skinned and medium built.
Barangay Chairperson Catherine Gotoc said that at around 12:20 a.m., they were awakened by successive gunfire.
Two men were seen, one inside a cab and another aboard a motorcycle, after the shots were heard while the victim was sprawled on the ground in a pool of her own blood.
Police recovered at the crime scene eight spent shells for a still unknown caliber of firearm.
No arguments or shouting were heard prior to the shooting, which took place near the corner of Quirino Avenue.
Also found on the victim were her cellphone, makeup, keys and P290 cash, all placed inside a paper bag.
Witnesses told the police the suspects took something from the victim although they cannot say what it was. (Photo on Page 14.)
