P1.2-M fire hits Pasig

SOME P1.2-million properties were destroyed when a fire broke out in five residential houses in Pasig City yesterday morning.

Reports gathered at the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-Pasig City) said the fire started at the three-storey residential house on Sgt. Soriano Ext., Bgy. Bagong Ilog, at around 9 a.m. reportedly owned by one Jolito Valiente Intalan.
   
FO2 Ivon Bumeway, radio operator, said a thick smoke coming from the room at the 3rd floor occupied by  Maricel, daughter of Intalan, was seen before the blaze occurred.
   
The fire quickly spread to four adjacent houses in the area.
   
Firefighters responded and was able to contain the blaze that  reached second alarm and was declared fire out at 9:48 a.m.
   
No one was reported injured during the fire.  Some 20 families were affected.
   
The BFP-Pasig City has yet to determine the cause of the fire.
