‘Agaw-armas’ suspect shot by bank guard

ANGELES City -- A bank security guard in the commercial district of Bgy. Balibago, here, shot a man who allegedly tried to grab his service firearm last October 27.

Chief Insp. Samuel Quebete, commander of Police Station 4, said the incident happened in front of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. on MacArthur Highway at around 3:30 a.m.

Brien Ola, 22, told police that he was on duty at the said bank when an unidentified man suddenly tried to grab his cal. .38 service revolver. Due to the aggressiveness of the suspect, Ola said he had to shoot the former once.

Although wounded, the suspect was able to run away but he was found later at the emergency room of the city hospital. There, the guard identified the suspect as the one who tried to grab his gun.

Meanwhile, one Czer Del Moral, 39, of Cupang, Arayat, Pampanga, was brought to Police Station 4 after he was found with a 9mm Jericho pistol with eight live ammunition while inside a comedy bar in Bgy. Balibago at 4 a.m. last October 27.
Police rushed to the comedy bar after getting information from an employee of the establishment about the presence of an armed man inside.
