3 charged for shabu, guns, explosives

BATO, Camarines Sur -- Three illegal drug suspects, now temporarily detained at the Iriga City Police Station custodial facility, are also facing charges for illegal possession of firearms (violation of RA 10591), ammunition and explosives (violation of RA 9516) after the serving of a search warrant in Sitio Maogmangkulod, Bgy. San Vicente, here.

Facing multiple charges were Manuel “Manning” Santor Lauta, 47, Rosemarie Luzon Tumbado, 34, both of Bgy. San Vicente; and Joemar Mota Santor, 25, of Bgy. Timbaw, Biñan, Laguna.
   
During search conducted by Joint Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Unit, led by Supt. Eymard Gomez, RID, PRO5, Supt. Alex Pederio, the PIB, CSPPO and the Bato MPS, seized were a cal. .38 Armscor revolver, nine live ammos for cal. .38, four hand grenades, an airsoft rifle (battery operated), a cal. .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, an ammunition reloader for cal. .38 with six live ammos, three 12-guage shotguns and 21 live ammos for cal. 9mm pistol.
   
Aside from the seized firearms, ammunitions and explosives, sachets of shabu, a digital weighing scale, rolls of aluminum foil, bundles of plastic sachets, several surgical scissors and other illegal drug paraphernalia were also recovered by the police at the residence of prime suspect Manuel Lauta.
