A suspected member of the Manambit Drug Group and 13 drug personalities were nabbed by joint elements of the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) PRO4A and the Calamba Police Station during anti-illegal drug operations in Purok 7, Ila-ya, Bgy. Parian, Calamba City.
A report to acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito by Supt. Albert D. Tapulao, Calamba police chief, identified the suspect as Richard Luistro, with aliases Boy and Richard Manambit.
Luistro, according to Tapulao, is a high-value target (HVT) and member of the Manambit Drug Group operating in Laguna.
During the buy-bust operation conducted at 3:30 p.m., the operatives also arrested the other suspects, identified as Joseph Uriza, 18, Regina Amparado, 39, Ronald Saba, 45, Jess Ofrin, 37, Dominador Necerio, 48, Vanessa Campana, 27, Lanie Mateo, 32, Myka Bautista, 23, Charles Lotero, 39, Ryan dela Cruz, 35, Alfert Canlas, 33, Marilyn Garjas, 38, Gerraldo Viernesa, 41.
Police will file charges against the suspects for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7 11, 12 and 15 of Article II, RA 9165 in relation to Oplan: Double Barrel.
The PNP operatives confiscated 15 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (70 grams), with estimated street value of P140,000, a rectangular plastic sachet containing suspected shabu (30 grams) with estimated street value of P60,000, several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
The suspects and the recovered pieces of evidence were brought to PDEA PRO4A for proper disposition while appropriate charges are being readied for filing in court against the suspects.
