SO who says the AlDub fever is over? “Eat Bulaga” continues to reign supreme at noontime, especially now that the Kalyeserye has been successfully revived, with no less than 40 to 60 TV commercials per break! (We counted it.) And the talk  of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza having a wedding this Saturday is sending their loyal fans into frenzy.

In all appearances, the wedding this Saturday looks real, as Alden and Maine even had a pre-wedding seminar with Fr. Jeffrey Quintela (the same priest who officiated in the Vic-Pauleen wedding) to prepare them for their upcoming nuptials. The couple even had a pre-nuptials pictorial with their glam team and a professional photographer. Liz Uy came as stylist to help Maine choose her wedding gown. We just hope what happened then at Philippine Arena when Liz gave Maine a gown already won by somebody else won’t be repeated this time.

Alden and Maine are also shown having a bedroom pictorial with them in their immaculately white nightwear. They seem so relaxed and at ease with each other. We heard that for their actual wedding, they want a Halloween motif since Todos Los Santos is just around the corner. Let’s see if their wish would be granted since we honestly think that the macabre trimmings of Halloween won’t be that appropriate for a happy occasion like a wedding.

LOREN Burgos has been with Star Magic for sometime but she now gets her first starring role in a movie in Director Diane Ventura’s “Mulat” that opens in tandem on November 2 with “TheRapist” starring Cherie Gil. A member of the Star Magic Angels, Loren has appeared in such shows as “Home Sweetie Home” and “Wansapanataym”. She was born in Manila but their family moved to the States when she was small and she grew up in California where she studied at the police academy at one time, earning her the tag of being One of the Boys. Eventually, she returned to Manila to pursue a showbiz career.

In “Mulat”, she has a hot and sexy love scene with Jake Cuenca. So is she cultivating an image of being a sexy star?
“Okay lang namang magpa-sexy basta may katuturan,” she says. “Ayoko nung magpapakita lang ng katawan na wala namang kawawaan. In ‘Mulat’, I did sexy scenes kasi I get to play the lead role and the character I play is shown undergoing some personal problems with regard to her relationships, first with Ryan Eigenmann, then with Jake. Later on, I start seeing hallucinations that make me doubt my sanity. Mabigat at malalim ‘yung role. Ayokong ma-categorize na basta sexy star. Mas gusto ko pa to do character roles, even contravida, basta challenging lang talaga.”
She admits being so tense and nervous doing the love scene with Jake. “First time ko to do such a scene, so siyempre, sobrang kaba ko. We don’t really know each other so mahirap makipag-love scene sa taong hindi mo naman masyadong kilala.
I really felt awkward but it’s na good mabait si Jake, very gentle, and kinausap muna niya ako so I’ll be more comfortable with him. Nagawa naman namin nang maayos ang eksena and I’m really happy na ang first movie ko is ‘Mulat’, something I will really be proud of. I think our director, Diane Ventura, brought out the best in me.”

SHE’S simply known as Taki, a host in “Eat Bulaga”, but her full name is Takako Saito, ¼ Japanese, ¼ Spanish, ¼  Brazilian and ¼ Filipino. She was cast as part of “Calle Siete”, the current pre-program to “Eat Bulaga”, that will soon be replaced by “Trops” (for Tropa) and Taki feels lucky she’s also part of the new show with the six guys discovered in “That’s My Baes”, along with co-stars Toni Aquino (daughter of Ruby Rodriguez) and Kate Lapuz.
She will be paired with Kenneth Medrano, the EB Bae winner, and the new show, meant for millennial viewers, will start airing on Monday, October 24, at 11:30 a.m. Taki and Kenneth were also a love team in “Calle Siete”. The other members of the EB Baes are Jon Timmons, Tommy Penaflor, Miggy Tolentino, Joel Palencia and Kim Last.
Produced by TAPE, Inc. and directed by Linnet Zurbano (former assistant of Direk Mike Tuviera) will show the joys and pains, life and loves of millennials. Kenneth hails from Cebu and has appeared in some GMA-7 soaps. Miggy will be forming a love triangle with Kenneth in vying for the love of Taki. A good dancer, he considers “Trops” as his biggest break in acting.
Kim Last is a Fil-Brit who’s a good comedian and is now also a mainstay in “Sunday PinaSaya”. He considers being in “Trops” as a new challenge for him. “SPS is live, so now I’ll be acting in a taped show naman,” he says.
Tommy is the tallest of the Baes at 6 ft. tall. He has finished radiology but opted to pursue a showbiz career. Jon and Joel are both masters of the dance floor. Direk Linnet promises that it’s not only millennial viewers but also their parents who can surely relate well with the show.
“We aim to bridge the so-called generation gap and explore some pressing issues about today’s young people, from their hairstyle and fashion sense to their attitudes about careers, family and relationships,” she says. “The show will also instill good values, especially about love and respect for elders, siblings and our fellowmen as a whole. So don’t miss ‘Trops’ when it starts airing this Monday.”

DIANA Zubiri is back on GMA7 after appearing in some shows on ABS-CBN. And she’s back in her former show, “Encantadia”, where she was the original Danaya, now played successfully by Sanya Lopez. Diana plays the mysterious character called Lila Sari, who’s the traitorous ward of Solenn Heussaff as Cassiopeia. She will be an ally of Adhara (played by Sunshine Dizon, the original Pirena) in fighting the Sangg’res.
Lila Sari originally appeared with a mask hiding her face and it’s only now that her full face and appearance have been revealed. Diana has just given birth to her baby daughter last August 14, with husband Andrew Smith as the dad. Two months after giving birth, she’s back to work and also back in top sexy form looking like she didn’t give birth at all.
“It’s nice to be back with GMA and in ‘Encantadia’, a show that means so much to me,” she says. “At tuwang-tuwa rin ako sa naging reunion namin ni Sunshine Dizon ngayong pareho na kaming mothers with our own kids. Madalas nga kaming nagre-reminisce ng good experiences namin when we did the original ‘Encantadia’ more than ten years ago.”
