Over 200 flights, domestic and international, were cancelled due to Typhoon ‘Karen’ (international name: Sarika).
It was learned that at least 30 flights were cancelled by Cebu Pacific on October 15 and then another 140 flights yesterday. The Philippine Airlines (PAL), on the other hand, cancelled 95 flights as of this writing.
The international flights affected, as far as PAL is concerned, are those to and from Bangkok, Haneda, Hong Kong, Taipei, Kansai, Narita, Singapore, Incheon, London, Canton, Peking, Port Moresby, Guam, Darwin and Pusan.
PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna said the airline is doing its best to inform affected passengers, whose contact numbers are available to PAL, of their flight cancellations via email or text notification.
She said affected passengers may also call PAL Hotline (02) 855- 8888, log on to www.philippineairlines.com or visit the nearest PAL ticket office or partner travel agent for their flight rebookings once weather clears.
Rebooking penalties/charges are waived if affected parties rebook within 30 days from their original flight date or within ticket validity period, Villaluna said.
