TWO drug suspects were killed in an encounter with policemen in Quezon City Saturday morning.

A report gathered from Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit identified the drug suspects as Ashley Gumandar, of 11-C Ponciano St., Nitang Avenue, Novaliches, QC, and the other suspect as a certain “Bong,” about 35-40 years old.

According to police reports, operatives of Station Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group (SAIDSOTG), led by Senior Insp Dennis Francisco, conducted a buy-bust operation against Ashley Gumandar at 8:30 a.m. at the house of the suspect.

Gumandar was a notorious drug pusher in the area and was included in the Novaliches Police Station-4 drug watchlist.

PO1 Leslie Allan Corpuz posed as a buyer of P1,000 worth of drugs. However, when Gandar sensed the presence of the policemen, he and Bong drew their firearms and fired at the latter. The operatives retaliated, hitting the suspects.
The suspects were rushed by the BPSO volunteers to Novaliches District Hospital but to no avail.
Recovered from the suspects were a cal. .45 pistol, an improvised 12-gauge handgun, nine fired cartridge cases, several live ammunition, four sachets of shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
