STRESSING that she is innocent of the drug payola charges against her, Sen. Leila de Lima said there is no need for the Duterte administration to put her on a “lookout bulletin” since she has no plans to flee the country.

De Lima made the remark after the Department of Justice (DoJ) placed her and five others on the lookout bulletin that prevents them from leaving the country without permission from their respective heads of office.
“Korte lang ang p’wede magpigil ng pag-aalis. But in any case wala naman ho akong balak na umalis. Kung aalis man ako meron ‘yung dahilan like for example kung kailangan ko pumunta sa ibang bansa for some engagement or what,” she said in a chance interview.
“Hindi naman ho talagang mahilig magbiyahe. Huwag kayong mag-alala, dahil wala ho akong kabalak-balak na umalis ng Pilipinas para iwasan ‘yung ano mang ihahain nyo sa akin na kaso dahil inosente po ako. So, ang guilty lang po ang tumatakas,” said De Lima.
The senator also questioned the DoJ’s move of placing her in the watchlist as she rejected the testimonies at the House of Representatives of New Bilibid Prison (NBP) inmates Herbert Colanggo and Jaybee Sebastian that she collected “payola” money from them to fund her senatorial bid in the last national elections.
“Nakakatawa naman sila. Wala pa naman charge, wala pa naman basehan. Ang basehan ay ‘yung mga sinisiwalat na ‘yan sa House inquiry. Hindi naman totoo ‘yung mga sinasabi na ‘yan diyan. Hindi p’wede maging basehan ‘yan (ng lookout bulletin),” she said.
“As far as I know there is no still basis for a lookout bulletin against me, considering that not even the DoJ has dared file a case against me with the Ombudsman despite the House hearings,” said De Lima.
In an earlier text message, De Lima said: “I don’t think a lookout bulletin can be justified using a kangaroo court’s persecution of a sitting senator. I will take the necessary legal action against this latest assault on my person by my successor at the DoJ (Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre).”
”Obviously the persecution continues by these men without balls. I already dared them to arrest me, but no one came. They have already done worse, a lookout bulletin at this point is just icing on their cake,” she added.
“I challenge this administration and the President: tatlong buwan na ninyo akong pinagtutulong tulungan gamit ang buong gobyerno, ganyan ba kayo mga kaduwag at kainutil? Mga lalake ba talaga kayo?” she asked.
