of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) implemented another round of increase for both cooking and auto gas yesterday.
The implementation of LPG price increase, spearheaded by Petron Corporation, came in the midst of an impending another round of oil price hike next week. The increase took effect at 6 a.m. yesterday.
The LPG price increase was pegged at P2.90 per kilo for Gasul and Fiesta Gas or equivalent to P31.90 per 11-kilogram LPG cooking gas while increase in prices of auto LPG was set at P1.62 per liter.
Raffy Ledesma, Petron communications officer, said the increase in prices of their LPG products was due to movement of prices in the world market.
Other LPG producers have yet to announce their price increase.
It can be recalled that LPG producers implemented a price increase, both in cooking and auto gas, of P1.15 per kilo and P0.64 per liter, respectively, last Sept. 1.
Meanwhile, Energy Sec. Wimpy Fuentebella admitted that there is an impending oil price hike next week.
Oil industry insiders earlier disclosed that oil companies are poised to implement another round of oil price increase.
The insiders said the increase for gasoline would range from P0.15 to P0.20 per liter, P0.20 to P0.30 in kerosene and P0.30 to P0.35 in diesel.
